Wedding Wear: Charleston Charm

Updated: Sep 23, 2020

My first trip to South Carolina was short but sweet. I spent the weekend in a gorgeous, beach-side condo with tons of family—1 aunt, 11 cousins, 3 siblings & my mom—in Folly Beach. All of us hadn’t been in the same room for over a decade, so it was a mini reunion! The occasion: my cousin TJada saying, “I do!" 💍

I kept my attire simple & classy for their charming Charleston wedding. The intimate ceremony was followed by cocktail hour, dinner, then dancing the night away at The Francis Marion Hotel.

Morgan & Co’s black, floor-length 'Embellished Gown' retails for $108 and features an elegant front split. However, my favorite detail was the top which had a nude lining, overlay with mesh paneling & black sequin floral lace. The back was complete with a triangle cut-out and tie closure. My mom found this gem—she doubles as my stylist/personal shopper, especially when it comes to formal events! I'm lucky! :) <3

For footwear, I went with Steve Madden’s classic 'Carrson' sandal in black suede, which retails for $90.

The following morning we enjoyed an intimate Sunday brunch at the hotel suite. I continued the simple theme with this 'Jenissa Woven Scarf Print Dress' by BCBG Max Azria. This lightweight, bell-sleeved beauty retails for $298 but I snagged it on sale when they lost my luggage during an ATL trip—a story I may share in another post!

If not obvious by now, suede is one of my favorite materials and currently in season! These nude B Brian Atwood tie-up sandals, accented with powder blue tassels, were the perfect finishing touch. The ‘Tiara Ankle Tied Sandal’ retails for $160.
