MAGA—an upcycling, self-empowerment brand—was created in 2015 by two Indian sisters, Mridu Agarwal and Gauri Agarwal. Their main objective: to infuse passion, art, and unconditional love. In fact, their brand name was created by combining their initials.

“Interest in fashion turned passion for Sustainability. I changed my way, when I discovered Fashion is the second pollutant to the world after oil.” (Source: Gauri’s Agarwal’s LinkedIn bio)

MAGA promotes caring for your mind, body, and soul. They’re also big on individuality, an aspect of their vision that ties nicely into their up-cycling practices.

“Our dream of braiding sustainability and glamour. For the modern spirit in you, that deserves to wear an identity and not just fabric.”

Leftover fabrics are used for redesign as a way to uphold the brand’s zero-waste and pollution policy. Due to this unique practice, some items are limited in stock, however, each garment made saves 1-1.5 kg of trash that would’ve otherwise ended up in landfills. These thoughtfully produced garments don’t compromise quality, comfort, reliability, the environment, or your sense of style.

“Glamorous yet sustainable way of living, presenting and perceiving the world through clothing.”

Many pieces are reminiscent of Free People’s bold Bohemian style. There are many vibrant patterns, flowy materials, and perfectly draped fits. Once you convert the pricing from Indian Rupee, you’ll find this chic, yet sustainable brand is very affordable.
